Other People's Trees

We traded avocados to Pedro for delicious figs. We traded avocados to Terry for kumquat jam and berry jam.

Daily Harvest

This cucumber went to a strawberito sushi party. It got cut into long thin strips and wrapped up in sushi rolls.

Daily Dinner Daily Barter

We traded a dozen eggs to our friend Bob for more venison from the deer he shot last year. Look at all the meat he gave us! So generous!
I cooked up some of the venison steak with tons of herbs, plum wine, and lots of olive oil. I cooked it very slowly 'till it got all melty. Yum!!

Daily Dinner

Los Strawberitos (www.strawberitos.blogspot.com) Jonathan's basketball team, and their loved ones, came over for a pasta making/eating party. Abbey taught authentic Italian thumb-rolling-of-pasta technique. Everyone ate vast quantities. The pasta was made with 10 eggs from the ladies in the backyard. The tomato sauce was from frozen summer tomatoes with herbs and garlic. The salad had arugula, cilantro, and other herbs, and homemade vinegar dressing.
